Norway To Allow Direct Sales Of Defense-Related Products To Ukraine

A policy by the Norwegian government allowing direct sales of weapons and defense-related products to Ukraine went into effect on January 1, authorities in Oslo said. “Russia's war of aggression threatens Ukraine as a state and nation,” Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said in a statement. ‘It is crucial that we continue to support Ukraine. Support for Ukraine is important for Norwegian and European security.” It said the policy change means that Norwegian companies can apply to the Foreign Ministry for export licenses for direct sales of such products to Ukraine and that approval will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
