Zelenskiy: 'No Blackmail' In Trump Call

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy says he didn’t know military aid from the United States had been held up before a July 25 phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump. In that call, Trump asked for Zelenskiy's cooperation on investigations related to former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, who is running for president, and his son, Hunter, who had business dealings in the Ukrainian gas company, Burisma. The call is at the center of an impeachment inquiry led by Congressional Democrats. During an October 10 news conference in Kyiv, Zelenskiy declared “there was no blackmail” in his call with Trump. Meduza points out that Zelenskiy rules out publishing transcripts of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, arguing it won't help bring Ukrainian prisoners back or end the war in eastern Ukraine.

Seventh session between Zelenskiy and group of reporters in the books. Still some 150 reporters still waiting in the wings to speak with the Ukrainian leader. Some wondering whether he will be able to pull it off.
