Schools in Moldova’s breakaway Transdniester region are now beginning each week with students raising the separatist region's flag and singing its anthem. Authorities in the regional capital, Tiraspol, say the ceremonies are meant to promote patriotism and discipline. But officials in Chisinau accuse the administration there of using schools to indoctrinate children and deepen the region's political divisions with Moldova.
