(RFE/RL) March 23, 2006 -- An Afghan policeman in the southern province of Helmand today shot dead his district police chief before being gunned down by his colleagues.
The officer's motive remains unclear. Police in the mountainous Musa Qala district, where the incident occurred, are continuing their investigations.
